As of August 2021: Due to continued COVID concerns, and with the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers and patrons in mind, all patrons must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or must produce a negative PCR test result, taken with 72 hours of the performance, in order to attend the show. This must be shown to the box office in order to pick up your tickets. A photo or screenshot of your vaccination card or test result will suffice. There will be no exceptions. Please be prepared by informing all guests in your party prior to coming to the theatre.
Furthermore, until further notice, all patrons must wear a mask (covering mouth and nose) to enter the theatre and may only remove their masks while eating or drinking. Masks will be available for any patron who does not bring their own.
We are doing our part. All CPH staff, volunteers, cast, crew and musicians are fully vaccinated. All staff, ushers and crew will wear masks.
We hope you understand that it is vital that we do our best to prevent any transmission of COVID-19. After 18 long months, we are so excited to finally be able to welcome back our audiences for live performances. It would be devastating if we would have to shut down again.
Thank you so much for your support of, and participation in our efforts to keep Coronado Playhouse a safe space for all.
Filled with humor, romance, drama and nonstop melody, this theatre favorite is a thrilling celebration of life and the fighting spirit that keeps us all going. The show opens with “And the World Goes ‘Round” with the message that no matter what good or bad things happen in life, the world, and life, goes on.
Five singer/dancers find themselves careening through the world of love, babies, coffee, and everything in between. From Cabaret to Chicago, the nonstop hit-parade features unforgettable gems, including “Mr. Cellophane,” “Maybe This Time,” “Cabaret” and “New York, New York,” seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre.
The World Goes ‘Round is a thrilling eclectic collection of love songs, torch songs, and acerbically witty comic numbers. The musical arrangements and witty libretto will undoubtedly enthrall audiences and send them home humming a tune or two.
“…an unexpected delight…”
Frank Rich, New York Times
“Ebb’s lyrics are crisp, often funny — and to the point, slick yet emotionally deep…Kander’s music is lively, lush and exceedingly catchy.”

Community Theatre is made by, with and for the community in which it is performed. Coronado Playhouse is committed to pursuing community theatre in the truest sense of the words by giving back to the people of San Diego County and Coronado and using our public platform to help those in need.
For this show, we are spotlighting the ACT San Diego Scholarship Program. The ACT San Diego (Association of Community Theatre, San Diego) Scholarship Program was established in 1975 by ACT San Diego to promote and encourage higher education in the field of theatre arts. The Scholarship is awarded yearly to high school seniors and college students majoring in any of the theatre arts.
The award requires the candidate to submit an essay and transcript with the application. Scholarship selection is based on a number of criteria, including academic record, scholarship essay, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and an outside appraisal. At least $300 and no more than $1000 will be awarded to deserving students.
We encourage you to help us support our local ACT San Diego Scholarship Program and our local students studying the arts. Find out about the Scholarship Program here.
