Casting notes:
We are looking for strong, collaborative, and adventurous singer-actors, who are ready to tackle a unique and scary take on Sweeney Todd. Those with experience in devised work, mask work, clowning, and physical theater are especially encouraged to audition. The characters in our Sweeney Todd will be ghosts, demons, and dark spirits conjured in a seance led by an older woman, desperate to uncover the truth about her past. Per our agreement with MTI, all characters must be portrayed as the gender written in the script. The creative team believes, however, that gender expression is expansive and fluid. All roles are open to actors of all gender identities and expressions. For the part of Tobias Ragg, we are interested in casting a high school student as young as 15. All other roles are for adults, 18+.
