Auditions Via Video Submission:

Please read this entire notice and follow the instructions below before submitting your audition:

Please email audition@coronadoplayhouse.com with the following:

1. A video of you performing a 1-minute musical theatre song. You may sing a song from the score, if you prefer.  NOTE: Please upload your video to YouTube, Dropbox or other third-party platform and include the link in your email submission. Please do NOT attach your video file to the email.
2. A copy of your resume
3. A copy of your headshot
4. The following information (even if it is on your resume) in the body of the email:
   1. Full Name (and pronouns, if you wish)
   2. Email Address
   3. Phone Number (cell phone preferred)
   4. Are you over 18 years old?
   5. Dance experience
   6. Vocal range
   7. Any conflicts with the rehearsal dates listed below (No performance conflicts will be accommodated)

All auditions must be received by Monday, May 10 at 6pm to be considered for a callback. Please make sure to include all of the requested materials/information.

CALLBACKS:

VIA ZOOM on Sunday, May 23 at 4:30pm, by invitation only.

Callbacks will consist of movement and songs from the score (backing tracks and sheet music will be provided with the callback invitation email).

No screenshots or recording permitted.

Please note:  Callbacks may be recorded by Coronado Playhouse solely for reference in making casting decisions and will not be shared outside of the production team.

COVID-19 Notice:

Coronado Playhouse cares about the well-being of its staff, cast and crew and will be following all guidelines and procedures to ensure their safety. We have deliberately chosen this show for the small cast, to ensure a safe environment both on and backstage. All necessary precautions will be taken including wearing face coverings, frequent sanitation, temperature checks and testing. 

Initial rehearsals may be conducted on Zoom and possibly outdoors, with safety protocols in place.

There is also consideration being given to recording this show to stream to our patrons, depending on State, County and City guidelines allowing live performances to resume.

Audition Details:

• For all roles: Prepare a one-minute musical theatre song in the style of the show. You may sing a song from the show, if you prefer. 

Please list all of your conflicts from July 20, 2021 through September 2, 2021 in your submission email and ensure you do not have any performance date conflicts.

Rehearsals will begin Sunday, July 20 at 6pm. The rehearsal schedule will be provided in advance of the first rehearsal.  

• Strictly a Non-Equity production. There is no pay.

Show synopsis: 

The World Goes ‘Round is a celebration of John Kander & Fred Ebb’s world-famous music. Five performers will take us on a journey highlighting some of their most famous and also lesser known tunes through song and dance. Kander & Ebb’s music has been praised on Broadway and in films for many years. The World Goes ‘Round will include songs from: Cabaret, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Zorba, The Rink, The Act, Funny Lady, 70 Girls 70, The Happy Time, New York New York, Woman of the Year, Flora the Red Menace and Liza with a Z.

Cast List and Breakdown: 

Coronado Playhouse believes in diverse casting. All ethnicities and genders are encouraged to audition.

We are looking for five performers who are actors, singers, & dancers.

Track #1 vocal range: low note F#3, high belt to a D5, mix to Eb5
Track #2 vocal range: low note F#3, high belt to C#5, mix to Eb5
Track #3 vocal range: low note E3, high belt to Eb5, mix to Bb4
Track #4 vocal range: low note B2, full voice and head mix to G4
Track #5 vocal range: low note G#2, full voice and head mix to G#4

*There is a possibility that swings will be cast.
